This teaching has helped me to understand things which I had no way of comprehending on the multiple readings I have done through Genesis. This teaching not only satisfies basic curiosity, but as I find in all of Rabbi Lapin's teachings, it also helps us to apply wisdom and understanding to our lives. There is nothing new under the sun. There is so much we can learn and apply to our lives today. This teaching helps us to become better people, which increases the quality of our lives. This teaching, as well as others by Rabbi Lapin, is changing my outlook on life, motivating me to approach tasks in a different way, and to take better care of my home and my property. It is also teaching me to be a better mother to my grown son (I feel it's never too late to become a better influence to your children!). I thank God for wisdom and guidance, and I thank Rabbi Lapin for helping us to understand. |

This series is my favorite of all of Rabbi Lapin's teachings so far. I learned so much as he went through the begats and explained the meaning of the names and why they are related in the manner that they are. I never realized Noah had no intentions for marriage until God revealed to him that his sons would play key roles in helping him complete the monumental task set before him. |

As a stay at home mom, I found the Gathering Storm very encouraging in light of the current culture. The Gathering Storm helped me to understand the necessity "to build my boat," and to have the courage to do it in "the bone of the day'!
I also was encouraged to learn that Adam had to exert energy in the garden to push back the chaos, even when he had no taxes, spouse, or children! I needed that fundamental principle reinforced. |
